Code of Conduct

STUDENT CONDUCT:

As stated in our Mission and Vision statements, our ultimate goal is to establish a Catholic faith community in which we will provide the opportunity for our students to be prepared spiritually, academically, socially and physically for the future.

The School Act states student responsibilities as:

  1. attend school regularly and punctually,
  2. be ready to learn and actively engage in and diligently pursue the student’s education,
  3. ensure that the student’s conduct contributes to a welcoming , caring, respectful and safe learning environment that respects diversity and fosters a sense of belonging,
  4. respect the rights of others in the school,
  5. refrain from, report and not tolerate bullying or bullying behavior directed toward others in the school, whether or not it occurs within the school building, during the school day or by electronic means,
  6. comply with the rules of the school and the policies of the board,
  7. cooperate with everyone authorized by the board to provide education programs and provide other services,
  8. be accountable to the student’s teacher and other school staff for the student’s conduct and,
  9. positively contribute to the student’s school and community.

Student conduct guidelines and expectations will be discussed with all students very early in the school year and will be reinforced periodically throughout the term.  Minor infractions will be dealt with by staff.  Serious infractions will involve the school principal or associate principal and home contact, as outlined in the Code of Conduct, which will be sent home early in the school year.

Parents are asked to read the Code of Conduct carefully and discuss it with your children.
